RFM700 Refractometers – User Scales
Depending on the application requirement, a choice can be made from a number of internationally recognised scales from the list below or for customers wishing to create their own scale, use of the RFM800 scale creation program is recommended. User temperature compensation curves may also be created in this way.

Once loaded, the operator may choose from the extra scales using the four multifunction keys on the front of the instrument. The scale and temperature compensation selected is indicated on the instrument display.
For the USA market, where corn syrups are used in the production of soft drinks, the RFM745 should be chosen as it is pre-programmed with three common HFCS scales. However, the RFM745 does not allow the input of further scales.
Note: The RFM700 series refractometers provide no means of temperature control and may not be suitable for non-sugar products that have a high temperature co-efficient or for applications where many different types of sample are being measured. If in doubt about whether the RFM700 is suitable for the application, contact B+S or a recognised distributor.
